In addition to hot-dip galvanizing and grating production, Helling & Neuhaus, a company of the Seppeler Group, has been offering expanded expertise in powder coating since the beginning of 2020. "We are thus in a position to offer comprehensive corrosion protection from a single source," says Frank Sommer, business unit manager for hot-dip galvanizing and coating at Helling & Neuhaus. By the construction of a hall extension on a surface of approximately 3200 square meters sufficiently place for the new powder plant was created. Based on extensive detailed planning and the new hall layout, special attention was paid to a future-proof and environmentally friendly pretreatment technology. The decision was made in favour of a wet-chemical pre-treatment by zinc phosphating and chrome-free nanopassivation. This makes it possible to coat black steel, hot-dip galvanized or sendzimir galvanized steel as well as aluminum according to the quality specifications of the service provider. The new facility can coat components measuring up to 7000 × 2300 × 1200 mm (length × height × width) and weighing up to 1000 kilograms. Power + Free conveyor technology transports the parts through the entire plant. The pretreatment system comprises five chambers with nine zones, plus a drip-off and masking station.
